Weddings at Chapter

Two properties. One rule: take the whole place, and we'll build the wedding around you.

A Chapter wedding isn't a banquet hall with a view. It's a resort you take over completely — every room, every guest yours, the bar running on your clock. Somewhere between the ceremony and the dance floor, the staff stop checking the time. So do you.

Two Chapter properties do this properly. Here's how each one hosts a wedding.

Best time:

 November, if your dates are flexible — the whole city goes pink with cherry blossoms. A handful of places on earth do this. Book the month a year out.
 December to February, for the migratory birds and the winter light on the palace. April, when nobody's looking. Winter dates go first — ask early.

The Format

The whole resort, every room. Three generations sorted by who wants quiet and who wants the bar. Dogs get the lawn, children get hot chocolate at altitude, in-laws get the best view in the house.
All seventeen rooms, your guests the only guests. The bar runs on your clock — we took the clock down. Breakfast the next morning is everyone who danced, at 09:00, with pastries we don't ration.

The Food

Cassette cooks the wedding: Kokborok and Mui Borok dishes — river fish, bamboo shoot, banana flower — alongside the menus a wedding needs. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian throughout. Tell us the functions and we'll build the menus around them.
Cassette at Upper Shillong cooks it, vegetarian and non-vegetarian throughout. Bring your band, or use ours — Shillong is the rock capital of the country, and we act accordingly.
Cassette at Lakeside cooks the wedding — Kokborok and Mui Borok dishes (river fish, bamboo shoot, banana flower) alongside the menus a wedding needs. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian throughout.

When

December to February is the lake at its best — the migratory birds, the winter light on the palace. April when nobody's looking. Ask early for winter dates; small hotels fill first.

Getting the family there

Agartala has direct flights from Kolkata, Delhi and Guwahati; the lake is an hour to ninety minutes from the airport. We'll arrange the cars, and the boats.
